AoE2: DE Enhanced Graphics Comparison. I recently asked if there was a comparison with screenshots and/or video footage to better illustrate the differences seen with the Enhanced Graphics Pack installed. No one responded, so I took a few screenshots and made a crappy video. Age of Empires II's Intro Cinematic (The Extended Cut) in 4K 60fps. We'll know soon enough though, as Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is due to release this fall. If I were a betting man I'd place the date around September 30, the game's 20 th anniversary.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is a 20th anniversary gift to the people who either grew up playing this wonderful RTS or who are looking to play a classic in stunning 4K. The Enhanced Graphics Pack increases Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition to ultra-high fidelity resolution. Before you attempt to install, please make sure that your system requirements meet or exceed the minimum specs for this content: 2.4 Ghz i5 or greater or AMD equivalent, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia® GTX 650 / AMD HD 5850 or better
You can skip downloading of Enhanced Graphics Pack and voiceover files or you don’t need. Here is the list of selective/optional files:
- fg-optional-hd-pack.bin (Download only if you have an Ultra HD display, otherwise it’s pretty useless)
- fg-selective-english.bin (REQUIRED for all languages withour their own voiceovers)
- fg-selective-all-non-english.bin (REQUIRED for all languages but English)

Backwards Compatibility
This repack is NOT backwards compatible with previous AoE2DE repack.
BTW, the game works under Windows 7, but is freaking memory hungry. Eats around 5-6 GB of RAM w/o Ultra textures and >10 GB with Ultra textures on a freshly created game map. So if you experience crashes, you should buy more RAM or increase page file at least.
